I waited for the DVD because I didn't want to hear the chatter of people in a movie theatre during the show. I remember seeing the original on Broadway many years ago with Len Cariou and Angela Lansbury... and I know that quiet movie etiquette is not up to par with the etiquette at a Broadway performance. So I was able to watch and listen to an exciting take on something traditional. The performances were wonderful and were secondary to the music. Yes Johnny can sing and he has a great time with the Sondheim score and lyrics. Watching did pose a condo problem. How to listen to something on a widescreen TV that doesn't modulate sound evenly. Trying to be respectful of my fellow condo dwellers and not blasting the orchestral moments and even better not singing along JOANNNNNNNNA was a trial in condo respectability and proper condo etiquette. This brings us to an important question. Is there a proper condo etiquette?.

Just saw the new release DVD SWEENEY TODD, and it occurred to me that a lot of things go on and take a lot of time to get discovered. Condo living is that way. Although we have rules, there seems to be very little adherence to them. Are we at the mercy of the demon barbers of the condo. Does duplicity and sleaze prevail or are we safe and sound? Do things occur that most people who live in the condo don't know or care to know? Do some suffer? Do the ones who hear raucous screams or smell the smoulder in the middle of the night suffer? Does the condo association protect the bystander's rights? What really happens

When Tocqueville wrote Democracy in America do you think that he ever would have figured out that the ultimate democratic act would be to set up a condominium? Is there any democratic aspect of living in a condominium or are we manipulated by a governing board or left to fend for ourselves. What about the law, homeowners rights, and condo boards. What is your experience?
